This policy explains what information InSwing ("we", "us") collects when you use the InSwing app, why we collect it, and how you can control it. InSwing is a cricket app for booking turfs, joining or hosting matches, building teams, and scoring matches ball-by-ball, built for players in Chennai.

Information we collect

When you create an account, we collect your name, email address, and/or phone number (depending on whether you sign up with email/password, phone, or Google). If you sign in with Google, we receive your name, email, and profile photo from Google. If you verify your phone number, we receive that number from our sign-in provider (Firebase Authentication).

You can optionally add to your profile: a bio, city, skill level, playing role, batting/bowling style, and a profile photo.

To show you nearby turfs, matches, and players, we may collect your device's location (with your permission) or the city you select manually.

We keep a record of your activity in the app: turfs you view or favorite, matches you create or join, teams you're part of, reviews you write, and messages you send in chat.

If you make a payment through the app, our payment partner Razorpay processes your card/UPI details directly — we never see or store your full payment credentials.

How we use your information

• To operate core features: turf discovery, match creation and joining, team management, live scoring, and chat.
• To show you relevant matches and players based on your city/location.
• To send you notifications about matches you're part of (invites, results, reminders).
• To keep the platform safe — investigating reports, enforcing our Terms of Service, and preventing abuse.

Who we share it with

• Other players — your name, photo, and cricket profile (skill level, playing role, stats) are visible to other users as part of the app's social features, since InSwing is built around finding and playing with other cricketers.
• Turf/venue owners — if you book or contact a turf, the venue owner sees your name and contact details to coordinate the booking.
• Service providers — Razorpay (payments), Firebase/Google (sign-in and phone verification), and our hosting provider. These providers only receive what they need to do their job and are not permitted to use your data for their own purposes.

We do not sell your personal information to anyone.

How long we keep your information

We keep your account information for as long as your account is active. If you delete your account, we remove or anonymize your personal details (name, email, phone, photo, bio) right away — see the section below. Some records tied to matches, teams, or reviews you were part of may remain (in anonymized form) so other players' history stays intact, but they're no longer linked to your identity.

Your choices

• You can view and update most of your profile information anytime from Edit Profile in the app.
• You can delete your account and personal data at any time — from the app (Profile → Delete Account) or, if you no longer have the app installed, from our account deletion page.

Children's privacy

InSwing is not directed at children under 13, and we don't knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you believe a child has provided us with personal information, contact us using the details below and we'll remove it.

Security

We use reasonable technical and organizational measures to protect your information, including encrypted connections and secure password storage. No method of transmission or storage is 100% secure, so we can't guarantee absolute security.

Changes to this policy

We may update this policy as the app changes. We'll update the "Last updated" date above when we do.
